What is Group SMS service?
Group SMS service is a convenient and
cost effective way to send SMS to various members of a group, simultaneously.
User will send only one SMS to group, which will be multicasted to
every member of the group.
How can I avail Group SMS service?
You can subscribe to Group SMS service
by sending ‘Sub’ from your mobile to 382. Only ZONG customers can avail
this service
Which ZONG customers can avail Group
SMS service?
Only Pre-paid ZONG customers can avail
this service.
What are the charges for Group SMS service?
Group SMS service can be activated for
only Rs. 500/-. This amount will be deducted from your account when
you will send ‘Sub’ to 382 from your mobile.
How many messages I can send by subscribing
to Group SMS Service?
You can send 5000 messages by subscribing
to Group SMS service.
How can I recharge my Group SMS account?
The procedure to recharge is same as
subscribing for Group SMS service. Simply send ‘Sub’ from your mobile
to 382 to recharge your Group SMS account.
If I recharge before completely using
my 5000 messages, what will happen?
If you recharge before completely using
your 5000 messages, any remaining messages will be added in 5000 messages.
For example, if your Group SMS account’s remaining balance was 100
and you recharged your Group SMS account by sending ‘Sub’ to 382 from
your mobile, your new Group SMS account balance will become 5100.
I tried but couldn’t subscribe to Group
SMS service. Why?
Check if your ZONG account balance is
more than Rs. 500/-. If not, please recharge your account to subscribe
to Group SMS service.
How can I add a group?
Send Group Add to 383 to add a group.
For example, to add a new group named 'friends', send following command.

Can I add mobile numbers of other Mobile
operators?
Yes. You can add mobile numbers of any
mobile operator of Pakistan in groups.
How can I delete a member from a group?

Are these commands Case Sensitive?
No. All the Group SMS commands are not
case sensitive.
How can I send a message to a group?
Send Message to group. For example, to send a message to all the
members of group 'Friends', send following command.

Can I send SMS to more than one group
simultaneously?
No. you can only send one SMS to one
group simultaneously.
Can I send SMS to selected members of
a group?
Yes, but only from Group SMS webpage.
What is the maximum length of SMS?
You can send an SMS up to 160 characters
in length.
Can I send a message that contains more
than 160 characters?
Yes, however, it will be treated as double
SMS. For example, initially User’s Group SMS account was 5000 messages.
User now creates a group and adds ten members in that group. If User
sends a message to the group which is, say 200 characters long, then
User Group SMS account will be reduced by 20 messages, i.e., from 5000
messages to 4980 messages.
Can I send picture message to a group?
Not presently, however, you will soon
be able to send Picture SMS to a group.
Can I send ring tones to a group?
No. You can not send ring tone SMS to
a group.
Will my groups get deleted when my Group
SMS service expires?
No. Your groups remains created even
if your subscription expires. However, you need to recharge your Group
SMS account to avail the service.
My Group SMS account is not expired
but I am getting recharge messages from ZONG. Why?
ZONG will send reminded messages to recharge
your Group SMS account in two cases. Firstly, if remaining messages
in your Group SMS account reduce to 50 messages or less. Secondly,
if less than 5 days are left before expiry of your Group SMS account.
How can I access my Group SMS account
on Web?
Visit www.ZONG.com.pk and follow the link for Group SMS
If you are a new member, click on Sign-Up link. A new page will
be displayed where you can enter your valid ZONG number e.g., 03145030403.
Click on ‘Submit’ and your password will be sent to your mobile through
SMS. Keep this password at a safe place. Remember, you can only get
your password if you had already subscribed to Group SMS service
by sending ‘Sub’ to 382 from your mobile
If you are an existing member, enter your mobile number and password
in respective fields and click on Sign-In button. Now you can use
your Group SMS account from web
Why I require Password?
Password protection enables you to protect
your Group SMS account from malicious use.
I have forgotten my password. What should
I do?
Visit www.ZONG.com.pk and follow the link for Group SMS
Click on "Forgot Password" link. Your password will be
sent to you through SMS on your mobile
