What is a Voice Message?
Voice Messaging service enables mobile
phone subscribers to communicate with each other by exchanging short voice messages.
Who can I send Voice messages to?
You can send Voice Messages to all ZONG customers. Moreover, you can also send Voice Messages to mobile phone users utilizing the services of other mobile phone service providers.
Can I also send Voice Messages to landline numbers?
No. You can only send Voice Messages to mobile numbers.
How do I send and receive Voice Message?
You can send a Voice Message to ZONG as well as Off-net (Telenor, Warid, Ufone etc) mobile phone users:
Dial star (*) before any mobile phone number and send a Voice message following the instructions.
On-net Retrieval
You can retrieve messages by dialing the following codes for old and new Voice Messages:
Dial *0* to retrieve new messages
Dial *1* to retrieve old messages
Off-net Retrieval
You can retrieve messages by dialing the following code for old and new Voice Messages:
Dial 0313 4003400 to retrieve new messages on off-net mobile phone numbers
Dial 0313 4403440 to retrieve old messages on off-net mobile phone numbers
Do I require any activation for Voice
Messaging?
There is no provisioning required for
Voice Messaging. This service is available to all ZONG customers by
default.
How much will it cost to send and receive
Voice Messages?
Sending a Voice message would be charged at Rs:1.5 to any mobile phone
number in Pakistan , where as to retrieve new/old messages the charge
would be Rs: 1.5
The International Message Sending charges are Rs.3/SMS.
Can I send or receive Voice messages
while I am roaming in another country (international roaming)?
No, you can only send and receive Voice
Messages while you are in ZONG Pakistan's coverage area.
What is the mailbox size for these Voice
Messages?
Every ZONG customer is allocated a mailbox
size of 20 Voice Messages including both old (heard) and new (unheard)
Voice messages. Voice messages do not use any memory on the phone.
Are there any handset support / compatibility
issues in sending or receiving Voice Messages?
No, there are no handsets support issues.
What happens when my mailbox is full
i.e. when the 21st message is received?
In such cases, the oldest message gets
deleted on FIFO (First In First Out) basis.
While listening to my Voice Messages,
what if I want to skip and listen to another message?
While listening to your Voice Messages,
you can press # (the hash key) to skip the message you are listening
to and go to the next message.
Can I receive a Voice Message from any
mobile phone number other than ZONG?
You can receive a Voice message from
any network provided the other mobile phone service provider is offering
this service to ZONG network.
How will I know that I have received
a new Voice Message?
You will receive an SMS whenever a new
Voice Message is received.
How long is the Voice Message?
The maximum length of a Voice Message
is 60 seconds.
What is the validity period for my Voice
Messages?
All Voice Messages (including both new
and old) remain stored in your mailbox for 48 hours.
