How can I Port my number to ZONG?
You can make an application to ZONG at its sales & customer service outlets and complete the required documentation.
ZONG will send your MNP request to your current operator. A new ZONG SIM will be given to you and you will be informed of a tentative timeline by which your ZONG SIM will be active.
Note: In case of Post paid numbers you may have to contact your existing network operator to clear your outstanding dues.
What are the documentary requirements for porting?
You need to fulfill the following documentary requirements:
- MNP Request Form
- Copy of CNIC/Passport
- Customer Services Agreement form (CSAF)
- Physical SIM card of the existing operator for verification
What information do I need to provide to initiate a port-in request?
For successful conversion you need to provide
You must retrieve this information by sending “mnp” to SMS short code 667 from your current network provider’s SIM.
What are the financial requirements of porting a number to ZONG?
A processing fee of Rs.150 (nonrefundable) is applicable at the time of port-in.
What are the reasons on which my current Operator can reject my port request?
Your existing network operator may reject your port request based on following reasons
- Number is not registered in your Name/NIC/CNIC
- Number has been disconnected/terminated by the current network operator.
- You have outstanding balance against your postpaid number.
- One or more numbers registered on your ID are in default (The number for which the services are in suspension due to financial reasons).
- Number is bounded by the some contract that you may have signed with your current network operator.
- Your connection is less than 60 days old.
- You have given request for change of number or change of ownership that is in process.
- Number requested for porting is in dispute and litigation is in progress (in a court of law in Pakistan).
How long does it take for porting?
Once acceptance is received from your existing network operator‚ ZONG will be able to port your number within matter of few hours.
Will there be any disruption of services during the porting process?
There may be a temporary suspension period of one hour during which ZONG will activate the new SIM and existing operator will deactivate the old SIM.
Will my Pre-paid balance be transferred to ZONG?
No‚ any existing credit at the time of porting will be lost.
Will my Post-paid credit balance be transferred to ZONG?
No‚ any credit balance (advance payments) will have to be settled with the existing operator‚ no financial adjustment will be done between the ZONG and your existing network operator.
Can I withdraw/cancel my porting application after I have submitted it?
Yes‚ you can withdraw your port request anytime before your number has been terminated from your existing network‚ by submitting a signed request on a prescribed form to the new network operator along with your NIC copy.
Note:
Can I port a previously ported number?
Yes‚ you can further port your mobile telephone numbers to another new mobile operator after the expiry of the Minimum Subscription period (60 Days). What you have to do is to repeat the process of MNP application as mentioned above.
I have a Post Paid number; will I be able to port-in as a Pre-Paid number?
Yes‚ you may port your post-paid number to ZONG as a pre paid number or vice versa.
Will I be able to transfer the ownership of my ported number to anyone?
No‚ according to the PTA regulations ownership of a ported number cannot be transferred. |
